The SerieA Champions against the FIFA world club champions is well under way and the rest of Italy expects.

Before the start of the game there is a 1 minute silence for 18-year-old referee Lorenzo Moreno, who collapsed and died during a match in Verona yesterday.

1st flashpoint of the game in the 2nd minute as Genarro Gattuso brings down Luis Jiminez to the annoyance of the Inter players.

1st shot in anger by Zlatan as he was found well by Maicon but his volley was too high in the 3rd minute of play.

Nice combination between Chivu with a backheel and Maxwell was wasted with a Maxwell playing a horrible cross in the 5th minute.

Seedorf’s through ball to Inzaghi was just a tad too much in the 6th minute.

Space for Kaka but Samuel was able to defend well for a corner kick in the 8th minute.

Free kick for Milan in a very dangerous area as Cordoba brings down Pippo Inzaghi in the 16th minute.

Goal for Milan! With a fantastic goal by Andrea Pirlo with a curler in the 17th minute.

Chance for Inter as Zlatan found Cruz in space and his cross could only be palmed into the path of Jiminez by Dida and his shot cannoned off the bar in the 19th minute.

Great duel between Zanetti and kaka as they go at it with pace but Zanetti was able to stick out a foot to concede a corner kick in the 24th minute.

Free Kick for Inter this time in a very dangerous area as Maldini brings down Maicon in the 38th minute.

Weak effort by Chivu easily that is saved by Dida in the 38th minute.

Luis Jiminez is causing all sorts of problems for Milan as he just tried to play a cute pass to Cruz but Ambrosini did well to block the pass in the 30th minute.

Walter Samuel has twisted his knee and looks like he may have to come off in the 32nd minute.

Its 1-1! Zlatan was able to muster his way with 2 defenders around him and passed the ball to Cambiasso and he in turn passes to Cruz and it looked like Cruz took too long but he rifled a shot through the legs of Kaladze past Dida in the 36th minute. This with just 10 men as Marco Materazzi finally comes on for Walter Samuel seconds after.

Materazzi picks up a yellow card after bringing down kaka in the 39th minute.

Good attempt by Javier Zanetti but it was just wide off the post in the 43rd minute.

Ambrosini gives away a free kick in a dangerous position as he brought down Jiminez in the 45th minute.

Half Time

Inter 1 Milan 1

Inter have been the better side as Milan   Inter Milan have tended to play on the counterattack and not really created too much in way of goalmouth action but Inter have been dangerous with a lot of their players in good form.

Luis Jiminez has been the most dangerous player on the park with Zanetti, Chivu, Maicon, Cambiasso and Zlatan putting in very good shifts.

Milan have relied heavily on Kaka to do almost all the work on his own and while he has tried, it has not always come to fruition as Pirlo and Seedorf have been to quite from Milan’s point of view.

2nd half is under way

Alberto Gilardino is on for Filipo Inzaghi at the start of the half and Ferreira Emerson is on for Genarro Gattuso.

Good tackle by Kaladze on Ibrahimovic as he was bearing in on goal in the 46th minute.

Slight chance for Gilardino as he gets his head onto a deflected cross from Maldini just wide off the post in the 48th minute.

Good work by Seedorf to put Oddo through with space but his cross was very disappointing in the 52nd minute and easily cut out for a corner kick.

Serginho is coming on for Seedorf in the 57th minute. Clarence was caught in the very 1st minute of the game and he does not seem to have recovered from it.

Another calamity by Dida and Maldini has given Inter the lead given to them by Cambiasso but in all honesty Dida should have saved that very easily in the 63rd minute.

Chance for Ambrosini following a good cross by Serginho but Maxwell was able to make life difficult in the 72nd minute.

Good play by Zlatan when he out-muscled Maldini and beat Nesta but his shot was poor in the 74th minute.

Pele is on for Luis Jiminez in the 79th minute.
